About me
Principal Dancer – Thüringer Staatsballett (Germany)
International Principal Guest Artist
Co-founder of INTO DANCE
Former Principal Dancer with the State Ballet of Georgia
Ruika’s Childhood
Born in Niigata, Japan, Ruika began her journey in ballet at the age of four. Her early promise was quickly recognised through a series of prestigious honours, including Second Place at the Namue Competition and the Most Talented Dancer Award at the All Japan Ballet Competition.
Formative Years in Europe
At 15, Ruika’s performance at the NBA National Ballet Competition earned her a full scholarship to the Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional in Portugal. During her three years of rigorous training there, she continued to excel on the world stage, notably securing the Bronze Medal at the Tanzolymp International Dance Competition in Germany.
Rise to Principal Dancer
At 18, Ruika was invited by the legendary Nina Ananiashvili to join the State Ballet of Georgia, after Ananiashvili coached her graduation performance. Her ascent was remarkable; by age 20, she made her debut as Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty. Promoted to Soloist that same year and shortly after to Principal Dancer, Ruika performed the lead roles in the company’s most prestigious repertoire. Her definitive performances include Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Kitri in Don Quixote, and the title roles in Giselle, The Firebird, and Laurencia, and many more.
New Horizons
In 2023, after seven distinguished years in Georgia, Ruika transitioned to a global freelance career. Performing as a Guest Principal at international galas and leading masterclasses such as Ballet TheNewClassic, Ivan Vasiliev the last dance, Bright Step, among others. Her commitment to the future of the art form led her to co-found INTO DANCE in 2024 alongside her husband, Giordano Bozza – an acclaimed International Principal Guest Artist and fellow Principal Dancer at the Thüringer Staatsballett. Together, Ruika and Giordano organise global galas and auditions, creating vital opportunities for the next generation of dancers. Outside of her life on stage, Ruika finds fulfilment as a dedicated mother and a versatile creative, frequently modelling for international brands such as MYEM and unoa.
I believe the hallmark of a professional is the relentless removal of the unnecessary and the transformation of one's individuality into a competitive weapon.
